The Museum Bajen-Vega

Created in a manorial house in the heart of the village, the Bajen-Vega museum brings together a unique collection of 120 contemporary Spanish paintings. On two floors above the Tourist Office, come and discover the canvasses of Francisco Bajen nicknamed "the painter of silence" and those of Martine Vega, "the tamer of colours".

The museum is open daily from 10h to 12h from 14h until 18h30 during the summer period.
Other hours : mi-mars à mi-juin et mi-septembre à mi-octobre tous les jours de 10h à 12h et de 14h à 18h / mi-octobre à mi-décembre open daily de 10h à 12h et de 14h à 17h. Hiver du lundi au vendredi de 14h à 17h et week end de 10h à 12h et de 14h à 17h.

Archaeological display at the heart of the Tourist Office

These archaeological finds, displayed in a vaulted stone room in the Tourist Office, demonstrate daily life and work of local civilisation at different periods

- The Iron Age around 800 BC

- The Gallo-Roman period around 20 BC

_ They are the result of excavations by two local associations of enthusiastic amateur archaeologists

In addition to numerous showcases you will find explanation panels relating to the finds from Las Combes and from Celles. From around 10 displays you can explore more than 2000 years of history and understand the way of life of our ancestors.

- Become a“Tarn Ambassador”

Set up by the Departmental Tourist Committee of the Tarn and the Conseil General the “Tarn Ambassador” initiative is a novel experience. The basic idea is simple: it is about making you discover or rediscover the most beautiful tourist sites in the Department. Holders of the “Tarn Ambassador” card will have free access to all member sites.

Conditions of membership
The card is restricted totally to Tarn residents. It is non-transferable and there is only one card per household (same name, same address). The card is valid from the 31 March 2008 until the 31 March 2009

To obtain a card
All you have to do is to fill in the following form and enter the reason for your request in the space “your message” or print the form and send it by post to the Comite Departmental du Tourisme du Tarn, Moulins Albigeois, BP225 81006 ALBI (* these boxes must be completed so that we can reply to you). Only the first 10,000 requests can be accepted. Condition of use : the card offers free and unlimited access to the holder of the card throughout the period of operation of “Tarn Ambassador”. Free access is granted for normal visits and not for special exhibitions. The holder must present him/herself at the welcome desk with the non-transferable card and proof of identity.

The “Tarn Ambassador” card does not give priority access to attractions and cannot be used to by-pass queues. In the case of improper use the manager of the site has the right to inform the Departmental Tourist office..
